France understands the feasibility of building a nuclear power plant in Belarus, French Ambassador Mireille Musso said at a news conference in Minsk on Monday.
She said that the matter was topical in the contest of effort to diversify energy supplies.

India's DAE will take a 3% stake in France's Jules Horowitz reactor project under a scientific cooperation agreement signed January 25 in New Delhi. The agreement was signed by Anil Kakodkar, head of the Department of Atomic Energy, and by Alain Bugat, chairman of the Commissariat a l'Energie Atomique, which is responsible for the project to build a 100-MW (thermal) materials test reactor at the Cadarache site in southern France.

TAIPEI - Taiwan is mulling transporting its nuclear waste to France for reprocessing as two of the island’s radioactive waste storage sites will reach capacity by 2011, a report said Sunday.
State-run Taiwan Power Company (Taipower) last year applied to expand the storage facilities but has so far not received approval from the Atomic Energy Council over environmental impact considerations, the China Times said.

Olkiluoto-3 will be completed in "summer 2011," Finnish utility Teollisuuden Voima Oy said. TVO said the Areva-Siemens consortium, which had previously targeted 2011 after a two-year delay on the original

SOFIA, Dec 20 (Reuters) - Bulgaria's state power utility NEK said on Thursday it had asked strategic investors to file improved offers to acquire a 49-percent stake in a planned new nuclear power plant by Jan. 9.
NEK executive director Lyubomir Velkov told reporters all five short-listed bidders had been invited to sweeten their bids for the 2,000 megawatt, 4.0 billion euro ($5.75 billion) power plant at the Danube river town of Belene.
