More then thirty years of debate, and the controversy remains as polarised as ever. This website (to be fair - whose maintainer is anti-nuclear) collects news about nuclear power in Europe, sorted by nuclear power plant, type of power plant, country etc.

Kozloduy nuclear power plant pays back loan
Sunday, November 16, 2008Bulgaria's sole nuclear power plant at Kozloduy on the Danube River said on November 14 that it paid back early a $52.5 million loan to Russia's state-owned Roseximbank, which it took to upgrade its two working 1000MW reactors.
The reason for the early repayment of the loan, due in 2021, was avoiding currency risks, the plant said, as quoted by website mediapool.bg. The loan was denominated in US dollars, while its revenue was in leva and euro, the plant operator said.

Sunday, November 16, 2008Stockholm (Platts) - 13 Nov 2008 Forsmark management said it will try to use control rods from the closed Barsebaeck nuclear power plant to replace rods with broken and cracked shafts in Forsmark-3.
About 25% of the Swedish unit's 197 rods are cracked and at least one is broken. In a November 13 statement, Forsmark management said it wants to use the Barsebaeck rods because it would be difficult to quickly order and install so many new rods.
Spain's nuclear watchdog denies corrosion at plant

Earlier in the day, daily newspaper El Pais said lead particles detected in the interior of the Asco I nuclear power station during checks mandated by the Nuclear Safety Council (CSN) were derived from stress corrosion cracking (SCC).
