SOFIA June 30 (Reuters) - The capacity of a 1,000-megawatt reactor at Bulgaria's nuclear plant Kozloduy dropped to 60 percent following the automatic shutdown of one of its pumps, the plant said in a statement late on Tuesday.
The cause for the technical fault which caused the activation of the unit's automatic protection system has been sorted out, Kozloduy's chief executive Dimitar Angelov told Reuters.
"The problem has been solved ... The capacity of the unit is now being restored," he said.
The reactor is expected to reach its full capacity on Friday. A second
1,000-megawatt unit is working at full capacity.
European Union member Bulgaria has closed four older reactors at Kozloduy in the past several years under its treaty with the bloc and over safety concerns raised by Brussels.
