TURBINE TRIP ON SG HIGH-HIGH WATER LEVEL FOLLOWED BY REACTOR TRIP

On 30 March 1993, the unit was operating at 300 MWe full power.
At 10:13 according to the test requirements the unit output was increased from 300 MWe to 310 MWe. As a result, two main feedwater regulating valves were fully opened. The no.2-SG water level was relatively stable but the no. 1 SG water level decreased. There was no effect even if the main feedwater bypass valve was opened manually. At 10:16, unit output decreased to 305 MWe. At 10:19 no. 3 main feedwater pump started automatically. As a result, the SG high-high water level occurred, leading to turbine trip and reactor trip.
