On June 28, 1993 at 10:20 during a survey of the area by the Radiation Safety Service near by the Special Building no. 1 gate a spot on the ground was found (diameter appr. 300 mm, beta contamination = 500 particles/min., gamma exposure rate did not exceed the rate for the NPP site). Decontamination work was conducted. Dosimetric survey did not find any changes at the NPP site and surroundings. According to the INES the event is classified as below scale.
