ERF description: On December 13, 1992 at 18:42 (Kiev time) the unit, under rated power operation, was shut down by the actuation of the emergency protection system caused by turbine stop valves closing at both turbines. The stop valves closed on the level overrate in steam generator 5. During the transient process steamgenerator 3 safety valve opened and did not close completely, which led to the non-compliance with the steam generator cooldown rate.
