ERF description: In July 3rd. 2014, at the Municipality of Atizapán de Zaragoza, Mexico State, Mexico, a pick-up truck was stolen, this vehicle was transporting an Industrial Radiography Ir-192 radioactive source, with activity of 1.23 TBq, category II.

On July the 4th, 2014, the vehicle was found at the municipality of Tlalnepantla, Mexico State, Mexico. After checking the pick-up truck it was noticed that the Ir-192 radioactive source, with its container, was missing.

In the afternoon of the same day, a person of the public reported to the Nuclear Regulatory Authority the sighting of an article that appeared to be the missing source container.

Later on, the missing source with its container was discovered. The source and its container were secured by the authorities.
